    Biography

Chef Rohan was born in the northern part of the Southwest region of India, called Kerala. There he was heavily influenced by the customary cultural hospitality of Malabar and was inspired by the rich flavours influenced by Arab, Brahmin, Chirakkal, and Zamorin cuisines. As he grew older, he began to study Hotel Management at the Oriental School of Hotel Management and through that, discovered his true passion was cooking! He then moved to Hyderabad to work under a chef in the banquet kitchen of one of the largest convention centers in all of India, the Accor Novotel. While he was able to jumpstart his culinary career, Chef Rohan’s worldly passion could not be contained and so he decided to move to Canada. Once moving to Ottawa, Rohan enrolled and graduated with a diploma in Baking and Pastry Management from Algonquin College and soon after, began working in an Indian and Asian restaurant. He has also worked in several other restaurants in the Ottawa area including Thyme and Again, Two Six Ate and even the Hyland Golf Club in order to experience and learn about different cuisines. Chef Rohan’s culinary philosophy is that every single bite elicits an idea. His dream is to traverse his roots throughout the world and to offer his talent in order to celebrate his Malabarian cuisine and culture wherever he is!
