    Deniz was born in Turkey and prior to becoming a chef, studied and practiced as an architect for five years! His earliest cooking memories was cooking traditional Turkish food with his mother and grandfather, from whom he looked up to. He can still smell the delicious aroma of sautéed onions in butter! While Deniz does not have a particularly favourite cuisine to cook, he loves anything that is well executed and cooked with love; but will accept pasta any day of the week! After coming to Canada, Deniz studied Culinary Management at Algonquin College here in Ottawa. After graduating, Deniz came to Carleton Dining Services and has been with us for several years; first starting as a second cook and working his way up to becoming a sous chef! Outside of the kitchen, Deniz has traveled all around the world, visiting many European countries! While not on the move, Deniz loves listening to music, watching his favourite football team, Real Madrid, and building Legos!
