    Amanda was born in Brazil and always had a passion for baking. She started baking with her grandmother when she was 9 years old and was taught all her delicious family recipes. Although she loved to bake, she initially went to school to be a lawyer and graduated with a law degree in Brazil before beginning to study culinary arts at the same university, in 2002. After moving to Canada in 2016, she continued her studies by graduating in Baking and Pastry Management at Algonquin College, but it didn’t stop there! Amanda also got a Diplôme de Pâtisserie from Le Cordon Bleu here in Ottawa! She has put her skills to the test and ended up winning Taste the Art Ottawa, a nationwide cooking competition, in 2017. Now, Chef Amanda along with the rest of her team, coordinate and bake all those delicious pastry items you know and love in the caf!
