The Greens Salad Bar takes Silver in Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards!
Another year and another win. Congratulations to Carleton Dining Services for being the only Canadian University to place Silver for a second consecutive year for Retail Concepts of the Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards 2015 as presented by the National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS).
The Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards are considered one of the most prestigious competitions in collegiate food service and is a highly competitive peer recognition program. The awards recognize exemplary menus, presentations, special event planning and dining concepts, and provide an avenue for sharing ideas and creative presentations.
The winning retail concept is one of our very own: The Greens Salad Bar. The Greens was a new concept opened in 2014 in response to students’ demand for healthier options on campus. The concept is simple; healthy food, made fresh, right in front of you. What sets the Greens apart is the ability to truly customize. The salad is separated into 4 unique components: base, topping, protein, and crunch with the options of adding a booster or extra toppings. All ingredients are kept in full view to create a great customer experience.
The Greens is available at 2 locations, the Food Court and Loeb Cafe. Come get a taste yourself! Find more information on The Greens here. View our 2014 wining concept, the 101s Grill here.
