Carleton Dining Services’ Taste the World dinner placed silver for the Residential Dining Event category as presented by NACUFS Loyal E. Horton dining awards. This makes a 3rd win in 3 years for the team – having previously placed silver for The Greens and 101s Grill under the Retail Concepts category.
The National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS) is a prestigious food service recognition organization consisting of over 500 higher education institutions in North America. The award ceremony will take place at the national conference in Anaheim, CA on July 15 where we will awarded a silver medal. Go team!
The winning concept, Taste the World was an international themed residential dinner consisted of a themed dinner showcasing Aboriginal, American, Asian, Mediterranean and Caribbean cuisine.
Every station was decorated and presented 3-4 unique dishes, using authentic cooking methods and presentation to best represent the given culture. We utilized a large percentage of local produce, our own home grown herbs, and all local meat on our menu.
An interactive photobooth was also present at the event. Push pins were given to students to pin their city of origin before having their pictures taken professionally.
