Stephan is the Sous Chef at the full-service Bakers Restaurant in the University Centre. He has been in the field for about 25 years and is Red Seal certified. He is also a mentor-apprentice here at Carleton Dining Services. Stephan’s first job was a dishwasher in Montreal but found him drawn to the cooks behind the line whom he thought was the coolest. His biggest accomplishment was when he worked as a consultant to open a restaurant north of Montreal. It was a different aspect of the industry but all the long days and endless hours he put in paid off with a successful opening!
Although born in Montreal, Stephan has also spent a portion of life in Germany and Alberta before settling in Ontario. On his bucket list, he would like to go on an African safari.
